Church Broughton Taste Experience 2011

Them Broughtonians certainly know how to eat.

The date: Saturday 17 September 2011. The place? Church Broughton, Derbyshire. A delightful little village, tucked in amongst the market towns of Ashbourne, Burton-on-Trent and Uttoxeter, bursting at the seams with community spirit and pride. What better place to indulge the residents in a little brownie therapy?

Team BB was cordially invited to attend this event to show off our range of flavours, give the villagers a taste of what's available and also get a chance to sample the amazing array of dishes created by the community themselves, to share and delight one another. I personally enjoyed the Courgette and Dolcelatte soup, but missed out on a rather amazing looking Stifado (all gone by the time I got there!)

It's clear that there is considerable culinary talent in Church Broughton and I'm proud to say that, judging by the oohs and mmms and aaahs that followed each sampling, the villagers think something similar about little ol' us at Buffalo Brownies. One lucky punter even got to take away a box of our finest by way of a raffle prize. Worth the ticket price alone, we think!

My thanks to the VHPFC committee at Church Broughton for extending their kind invitation, and my hope that they managed to raise through this event some of the sorely-needed money to repair and replace the play equipment on the Playing Fields which were the venue for this excellent evening.
