Gotta start somewhere!

Gosh, it's bright in here. All the work surfaces are so shiny, and the stainless steel of the oven is glinting sarcastically in the light of the fluorescent strips above...

We've just got the nod from the boss to start work on perfecting the first flavour - a pecan nut brownie - to make it refined enough to work each time we bake it. There's been no expense spared on quality ingredients so there's no worries there, we've just got to think about what size of tray to use, how long to bake it, what temperature, all that malarkey. The brownie is the sort of cake that doesn't want to be heated too quickly or harshly, and it will also continue developing in the pan after you've taken it out of the oven. It's a fascinating subject for experimentation, to be frank! And it's the sort of product that seems to attract an almost unending list of volunteers to do Quality Control tasting. Hmmmmm.
